The capital's largest ultra-modern hotel stands on the southern edge of the city, in Ashgabat's new business district taking shape in the foothills of the Köpetdag. Nearby are the oil and gas ministries and the National Museum of History and Ethnography. The 16-storey building, with its gleaming mirrored glass and white marble, has already become part of the city's landscape. Its 148 upscale rooms are furnished by leading European furniture houses, including 34 two-room suites.
